Make It Yours
New year,New ME....seems to be the current 2018 trend.January has begun and I'm sure that you've got your year figured out,maybe some travel plans,better grades or even a completely new closet transformation.Nike's slogan is JUST DO IT and it took a couple of hours scouring through my overhaul of photos to discover this photo which made me think.
Everyone has new years resolutions but why do you need those,its societies construct that with every new year comes some undiscovered purpose in an individuals life.Its a new year but you are the same person as you were 365 days ago,you might of made mistakes but who hasn't. Everyone uses a new year as an excuse to start a new hobby,reinvent themselves,quit a job,end a relationship and start fresh.
But 2018,shouldn't be like the other years.It should be focused on YOU.Yes I'm talking about you....Have you ever done an introspection about yourself,what do you like,what do you dislike,do you care about others opinion more so than your own,when was the last time you cried or enjoyed a movie,when was the last time you went out by yourself or even put down your phone and read a poem or smelt a flower.If you haven't done or asked yourself these questions,then you should because our lives are becoming so consumed in technology that we never have the time for ourselves.
So if you already have a list of things that you want to achieve this year,then there should be a new number one item which is YOU.
So cheers to 2018,the year about being selfish and focusing on self introspection and self love.
